How to avoid erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is a common problem, particularly in older men. Almost all men between the age of 40 year to 70 years will experience erectile dysfunction once in life. Erectile dysfunction causes fall in three categories: physical causes, psychological causes and lifestyle causes. It causes number of men to feel frustrated and anxious.

Few of the possible causes of erectile dysfunction:

  • Physical causes: Heart disease, diabetes, liver and kidney disease, Parkinson’s disease, high blood pressure.
  • Psychological causes: Relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and psychological abuse.
  • Lifestyle causes: excessive consumption of alcohol, smoking, lack of exercise, obesity.

There are some steps to prevent erectile dysfunction:

  • Quit smoking: Heavy smokers have greater possibility of becoming impotence than non- smokers. Smoking causes vascular damage in penis that could result into impotence. Avoid over consumption of alcohol.
  • Exercise regularly: Men who exercise regularly are less like to suffer from anxiety and stress. Exercise also helps in production of testosterone which improves sexual performance.
  • Don’t take any medication without any need.
  • Eat healthy: Eat low fat diet. Avoid junk, fried food. Eat protein, carbohydrate rich food.
  • Reduce sleep, have enough sleep.
  • Lose weight.
  • Have healthy relationship with your partner.

By adopting a healthy lifestyle, you can avoid erectile dysfunction and have a pleasant relationship with your partner.
